Frequently Asked Questions
We know you have questions. Below is a list of common ones that might help shed some light on your concern:
What delivery time can I expect?
What defines a good seating fabric?
What’s the difference between our product and what’s at the big box stores, other than price?
What delivery time can I expect?
This varies by manufacturer. Most manufacturers update their lead times weekly. We keep this to ourselves and never really tell you what those are. In all reality there are several variables, like standard product vs. custom; quick ship; import vs. domestic; time of year; truck line schedules and material availability.
Following are typical rules of thumb (always add one week for freight):
Quick ship = 5 – 10 business days
Catalog orders (OFUSA) = 7 – 10 business days
Standard lead times and product – 4 – 8 weeks
Custom products – 6 – 10 weeks after approved drawingsWhat defines a good seating fabric?
Ah, the old double rub test. What is a double rub? Sit down, get up. That’s a double rub. Consumer grade materials are tested for about 15,000 double rubs. Commercial materials should exceed 30,000. We recommend not purchasing anything under 50,000 double rubs. That’s a lot of ups and downs during the life of the chair. What’s the difference between our product and what’s at the big box stores, other than price?
Easy one, but there’s not enough time to fully elaborate. Let’s keep it simple. Can anyone at a big box store really answer a question? Who handles installation? Who handles warranty issues? Can you take a piece for a test drive? Where exactly is their product made? And the best one, “some assembly required”.Why are imports cheaper?
The U.S. has safety, quality, labor and environmental standards that apply to all domestically produced product. Imports? I don’t think so. Sorry if your import's formaldehyde is making you sick or the chair foam is emitting toxic fumes. Lead based paint was eliminated for a reason. Now you know why.
